Berrys Adventure Walk: Hi AL, My name is Harmony and I work for Canine Adventure. Im writing to tell you about my new friend Berry that I took on an adventure today. Berry is a friendly brown and white pit bull mix. The nice people at the shelter told me he would benefit from a long walk in the woods, so I grabbed him up and took him out. He was super excited to leave his kennel in the noisy wing of the shelter today. When I got him out to my car he was skeptical about jumping in. I had to lift him into the backseat and reassure him we were going to have fun. He nosed around my car until we got to the Laurel St. Entrance to the Northbank Trail. Once he saw all the nature he realized he was in for a treat. He perked his ears up and his tail was standing at attention as we made out way along the trail. He was very curious about the jogger that ran past and wanted desperately to greet her. Berry sniffed all the piles of fall leaves on the ground and checked out all the noises he heard just off the trail. We wound our way around the trail until it brought us to Texas Beach. I brought Berry to a close sand bar to see if he would like the water. He tested it out but wasnt too interested. I threw a stick for him and he loved it. Then I pulled a tennis ball out of my bag and threw it for him. He was ecstatic! I had no idea he would love it so much! He dug around in the sand with the ball, kicking it and burying it while the sand flew all around us. I felt guilty when I realized our time was nearly up and we had to get back. Berry grabbed the ball and pranced up to the trail so we could hike our way back to the car. Nearing the car, Berry found a long stick and decided he wanted to bring it with him. He carried it a little way before he realized how cumbersome it was. I think he got pooped out on the hike, as he slumped down in the backseat for the whole ride back. His tail was wagging like mad when I walked him to his kennel. What a day! Thanks so much for sponsoring the walk with Berry today, he had a blast!
