Best Songs of the Year: Day 4 As with the previous post most people recognize this artist either for his earlier work or his recent solo efforts. Jack White has been able to consistently produce intelligent music that blurs the line between rock almost every other genre. When The White Stripes disbanded I was crushed like the German was when he thought Ned Nederlander used camera tricks. Very few people have the staying power after such an event. Fortunately Jack White has been able to build off of his experience, compose at an unbelievable rate and create songs that borrow heavily from other greats before him, molding it into a new experience. His music is almost timeless(in the true sense) and feels like it should exist in an alternate reality of how our 60s,70s and to an extent our 90s could have been. The song that I have chose is a prime example of his ability to merge various themes and progressions into an abbreviated opera. Please enjoy.
