Better is a poor and wise youth than an old and foolish king who [a]no longer knows how to receive counsel (friendly reproof and warning)—Even though [the youth] comes out of prison to reign, while the other, born a king, becomes needy. I saw all the living who walk under the sun with the youth who was to stand up in the king’s stead. (Ecclesiastes 4:13-15) Father, I am thankful that they who are planted in Your house shall flourish in Your courts and even in old age they shall bring forth fruit; for You have so ordained that we would bring forth fruit and that our fruit shall remain. As long as a man keeps Your statutes he shall live and if he is not conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of his mind he shall prosper and be in health, even as his soul prospers. May we always set Your precepts before us and attend to them, that we might live and live abundantly the God kind of life.
