Beyond the outward appearance. The Lord Jesus looked at - TopicsExpress

Beyond the outward appearance. The Lord Jesus looked at peoples heart and knew their potential. You cannot know what a person can become by judging the outward appearance or their present financial or social status in society. When The Lord Jesus called Peter, James and John, he looked beyond their common and fishy smell of their clothing. He saw something that only The Spirit could discern. We make the mistake many times by seeing mens present social standing and miss what The Spirit is attempting to reveal their potential to us. When He said to Peter, James and John, and others which He called, He did not tell them to go home and wash the smell of their occupation (fishermen) and did not tell them to change their clothing, but simply said, Follow me and and I will make you fishers of men. They immediately left their nets and boats and followed Him. The Lord Jesus believed in them, as The Spirit had shown Him and He spent three plus years teaching them by The Word and deed. They did not understand very much about His teaching but had a revelation of who He was. They learned to trust Him based on that revelation. Jesus blessed Peter as he told Jesus, you are the Christ, the Son of The Living God. Wow! Then immediately as Jesus told them that He must go to Jerusalem to be beaten and put to death, Peter rebuked Him, saying be it far from you, Lord, this shall not come to you. Then Jesus speaking to Peter. Get behind me Satan: for you are an offence to me, because you dont understand the things of God, But of men. The Lord Jesus did not reject him as an Apostle because He saw what Peter would become, fishing garb and all. As Davids Psalm spoke, O Lord if you did mark iniquity among men, Who could stand? How patient and loving He is to us when we are carnal minded. I am so thankful that The Lord sees the best in us when we are at our worse, and does not cast us aside. Having loved them in the beginning, He loved them unto the end. The Lord Jesus believed that He had a Church from the foundation of the world and invested His life, blood and soul in all that will answer His call. Regardless if your past, He sees beyond our sins and failures and know that we shall be changed to he like Him in this present earth and then when the day of The Lord comes, our bodies will he changed like into his Glorious Body, so shall we ever be with The Lord. After Hesys had been crucified and resurrected, He did not ascend into Heaven for forty days and He appeared into them in different times. One is when Peter said, I am going fishing. Going back to his old occupation. The other disciples went with him. They fished all night and caught nothing. At dawn, they saw a fire in shore and heard a voice, children do ye have any meat?. The knew it was the risen Savior. As they sat by his fire and ate with Him, Jesys spoke to Peter asking, Peter do you love me? Three times He asked Peter and being frustrated, Peter said, Lord you know I live you. Three times, Hesys said, feed my lambs and my sheep. He still sees who we will become in Christ and He is very patient with us. He still sees the best in us when we are at our worse. Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound, that saved a wreck like me. He looks at our heart and not our outward appearance with our flaws and failures. Love and Grace comes from Him. God bless all to cheer up, for He loves you now!
