Bhai Gurbaksh Singh and Political Prisoners - The Sangat has requested me a number of times to comment on this issue. I have sat back and reflected, and with my limited understanding here are my reflections: 1. The Akali Dal (Badal) have always aligned themselves to the Central Government, no matter who is in power, and fool the masses by their constant attacks against the ruling parties. Until we in the West do not write about their corruption in Gurmukhi and Hindi, and finance our community in Punjab to form its own party this will go on forever. 2. Some have criticized Bhai Sahib for fasting and lobbying the Government, to those brothers my question is what else should he do? He is protesting for the rights of others, not himself! The Singhs have served their time and should be released, last time they were released, and then locked up again! He is protesting and that is also being a soorma, having an armed conflict about this issue will only create more imprisonment and deaths. 3. The Panth is divided, if we were united there would never of been a chance of Bhai Sahib been arrested and taken to hospital. There is simply not enough people with him to support his galant act of protest.
