Bibi prefer to dance with Hamas against Abbas and against any chance of an agreement with the Palestinian people. Huge payoff to the settlers, enemies of peace and reconciliation. This is an event of a magnitude as large as the unjustified killing of hundreds of civilians in Gaza, make no mistake about it. It is the largest seizure of private land in the West Bank since the 1980. It must trigger an international response against the occupation. This time the American administration must take action or loose all credibility. It should back Abbas on his quest to define a timeline for the end of the occupation and must join actions on the security council against the Israeli government. It should also retaliate on the economic front and close tax exceptions favoring the settlements. Those are simply a scandal that allow usurpations of private lands lot be transferred to the illegal colonies. Bibi has been the master of the double tongue, promising to work with Abbas if he dump Hamas, but at every step of the way making sure Hamas is the real winner by being perceived as the real representative of the Palestinian resistance, while making Abbas a classic marshal Petain of the Palestinian people.
