But I came to give life—life that is full and good.- John 10:10 (ERV) Meditation Most men would love to live the life of world-renowned actor Sean Connery. Tall, handsome, and dashing, Connery is best known for his role as the suave and heroic British secret agent 007 in six James Bond movies, but his career has endured well into his older years and has included producing as well as acting. Yet when asked in an interview why, after all these years, he continues to act, Connery gave a surprising reply: “Because I get the opportunity to be somebody better and more interesting than I am.” Many people feel like Connery. Their lives aren’t all they could be. They aren’t as good as they could be. Something is missing that other roles cannot fill. That’s because only Jesus Christ can make a person’s life what it can be, should be—and must be. If you believe that, you’ll desire to help others find an existence that is “full and good” in the Lord. Become their friend. Share your life, and your faith, with them. Invite them to be a part of your local church. Pray for them and with them. Be the one who is their hero because you led them to a relationship with Jesus. Prayer God, You have placed people in my life for a reason. In my workplace or in my neighborhood, I can influence them to consider faith in You as I’m obedient to witness. Amen.
