Have courage and be strong. - 1 Corinthians 16:13 (ERV) Meditation David Martyn Lloyd-Jones was a Welsh Protestant minister, preacher, and medical doctor influential in the Reformed wing of the British evangelical movement in the twentieth century. In a memorable sermon on faith, he told his listeners how Christians should never panic. “I do not care what the circumstances may be,” he said. “The Christian should never be agitated; the Christian should never be beside himself; the Christian should never be at his wit’s end; the Christian should never be in a condition in which he has lost control of himself. It implies a lack of trust and confidence in Him.” Lloyd-Jones’ challenging words present a high calling—but it’s nevertheless true. The Lord wishes for us to grip tightly to our faith in Him, in times of plenty, lack, and everything in between. The best way to ensure you will rely on Him in all circumstances is to form a habit of constant, prayerful communication with Him, teamed with a ravenous appetite for the Bible, and daily moments of worship and praise. Be careful to seek the Lord, and you will be strong in Him. Prayer God, I love You!
