Advent Preparation (1 minute) Ezekiel 34:1-2 Pray for Church and Lives (3 minutes) As we FIND HOPE this Christmas, we met the first time God mentioned that hope was on the way (Gen. 3 to Satan). Throughout history Satan tried to stop God from sending Jesus – he failed. As you read the geneology of Jesus today, note the types of people God used to bring about Jesus. Pray today that FHBC would be open for God to work through each of us, regardless of our backgrounds, to bring about His eternal purposes. Pray that we would reject the idea, “God can’t use me.” Pray this week for our Sunday School Classes. This time of year many of our classes get together for Christmas parties. This is a reminder of how essential relationships are within FHBC. Pray that our Small Groups will be strong and vibrant communities of faith. What type of people are in this list? What does this say about the type of people God uses? What does this say then about God using you? Local: Students – Middle School and High School Students are wrapping up the semester with exams. Pray for them – time to prepare, proper rest, recall. When you see a student, encourage them in their studies. Country- Trinidad & Tobago - Christianity is professed by nearly two-thirds of the population, but true disciples faithful to God’s Word are not so common. Many Christians are nominal; many others are polluted by witchcraft, Afro-Spiritist beliefs and Hinduism-influenced worldviews. Family life and morals within the Christian sphere often do not demonstrate the lordship of Christ. Greater theological training – for leaders as well as laity – is needed and a discipleship mentality must be fostered. Thank God for the minority who do live to please God, and pray that purity and passion might be restored across all denominations.
