Big and great opportunity for an outgoing, accomplished librarian, digital preservationist and/or archivist: The Indianapolis Public Library is currently seeking a full-time Manager, Digitization to work in our Collection Management Services Area at our Library Services Center. Under supervision of the Director, Collection management, the Manager, Digitization will be responsible for planning, directing and implementing projects for digitizing, describing, preserving and providing free public access on the web to historical materials about Indianapolis and Marion County that are held by the library and other organizations. Incumbent will engage in outreach activities to recruit/identify prospective partners; develop collaborative partnerships with local organizations to implement digitization collections. In addition successful candidate works with the IndyPL Foundation and library financial management to seek and manage funding for digitization projects, writing grants in collaboration with the Library Foundation. Additional responsibilities include, managing the library’s partnerships with the Digital Public Library of America, Indiana Memory and DPLA’s Indiana Hub. Finally, candidate will work with vendors, library partners, and internal IndyPL departments for management of the digital collections website, metadata creation, archival storage, copyright management and delivery/handling of materials during the digitization workflow.
