Black on Black Crime is a Myth: Why do people feel the need to - TopicsExpress

Black on Black Crime is a Myth: Why do people feel the need to shift the conversation to Black on Black crime whenever one of us is killed without warrant by police, someone non-white, ect? Like most murders aren’t already intraracial? The truth is that crime is as segregated as the rest of America. Black on Black crime is another myth perpetuated by whites to make us believe we’re killing each other en masse and are inherently savage. But no one has ever mentioned white on white crime. Black peoples’ humanity isn’t contingent on some made up rules of respect. whites kill more whites than anyone else, Black people kill more Black people and so on and so forth. Crime is mostly intraracial. This isn’t a new phenomenon. But who got stuck with the bad rep for killing their own even though, as I previously stated crime is mostly intraracial. For those of you who don’t have your thinking caps on and need context when I say Black on Black crime is a myth I’m not saying it doesn’t happen. I mean the way it’s presented as if we’re the only group killing our own people is a myth and is another one of those coded phrases that make us seem like savages.
