Bless all who try to be a blessing to their fellows. Make us true witnesses, servants, and soldiers of Jesus Christ. Bless especially those who carry His love beyond the seas into foreign lands; and may the glory of His cross speedily disperse the darkness of the unbelieving world. Awaken the souls at home that lie in forgetfulness of You. And cleanse the streets, the dwellings and the business places of our town from everything that wounds afresh the heart of the Redeemer and puts his cross to shame. We remember before you our governmental leaders; the Congress and Courts of Justice. All universities, colleges, and schools; and all who are in positions of public responsibility and authority. Give them the spirit of wisdom and of love. Save them from selfish and petty ambitions. Keep ever before them the light of noblest ideals, that in faithfulness they may serve You, helping and uplifting the lives of those who put their trust in them, never betraying what they have received from the brave and true of generations dead, and of this day. Amen.
