Blessed Day Beloved Friends Monday 20 January 2013 Heres Todays Devotional from *The Special Seed* LET YOUR BRUISES HEAL Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed.-Jeremiah 17:14 I have seen His ways, and will heal him.-Isaiah 57:18 Do not let the diseased fruit of past relationships ruin the sweetness of your marriage or your relationship. It is the sole prerogative of God to remove spiritual disease. Natural disease may be instrumentally healed by men, but even then the honour is to be given to God who gives virtue unto medicine, and confers power unto the human frame to cast off disease. As for spiritual sicknesses, these remain with the great Physician alone; He claims it as His prerogative, I kill and I make alive, I wound and I heal. Consider this! If you were walking down a path and stumbled over a rock, falling and getting physically hurt, how much good would it do for you to have a bitter and blaming spirit toward that rock from that day on? Would such an attitude bring healing to your body or help you in any way? In the same way, when you have been bruised emotionally, you tend to be overly sensitive. If your hurt isn’t allowed to heal, the smallest bump will cause you to be defensive. You can’t develop healthy relationships while your emotional bruises remain unhealed. I know women who don’t trust any men because one man hurt them, one messed-up male did them wrong, and they have never let it go. They are defensive and distrustful and they think every man is out to hurt them, so they can’t have healthy relationships. Don’t let the person who hurt you keep you in prison. If you let the wrong go, God will do for you what He did for Joseph, He will promote you from prison to palace. He will take was meant for your harm and He will use it for your advantage. What happened to you may have been painful, but don’t waste your pain. God will use that pain to promote you. In Isaiah 61:7 God said “Instead of your shame you shall have a double honor” If someone lied about you and tried to make you look bad, let it go and double will come your way, those who hurt you forgive them and double is on its way. The business partner who cheated you out of money? Get over the resentment and double is coming. The spouse who was unfaithful, forgive and you will see double the joy, double the peace and double the fulfilment. God is a God of Justice, do your duty, forgive, stay obedient and faithful, be consistent with your relationship with God, He will promote you and settle your account. God loves you. And because He loves you, He wants the best for your life—restoration and wholeness. That’s why Jesus Christ willingly laid down His life, died, and rose again. His sacrifice has provided the way for us to find and experience the healing and restoration we need. God has a plan for your life, and He wants to heal you everywhere you hurt. John 10:10 says that Jesus came to give us abundant life, and part of that abundant life is making sure you are healthy and whole—physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. On this account the psalmist cried unto the Lord, O Lord, heal me, for my bones are sore vexed, and again, Heal my soul, for I have sinned against thee. ACTION STEP: Identify your own bruises, where your mind keeps on going back, today make a decision to forgive and move forward, ask God to help you, your life will never be the same.
