Blown away on GJAC showboat today by meeting and playing for 540 kids and families suffering from Epidermolysis Bullosa, known as the worst disease youve never heard of. These sweet, innocent, angelic little kids, dealing with what seemed like the equivalent of leprosy, limbs missing, tissue thin skin, laughing, singing their hearts out (song from Frozen...like little angels) was just an overwhelming spiritual experience. I cant process it. Exhausted. Tearful. Heart full. I will say: life is certainly not fair. The suffering of the most innocent is something I will never, ever understand. The resilience and spirit of human beings, especially children, is breathtaking. I have zero right to ever complain about anything. I am thankful for this day and experience. I think entertaining and bringing joy, laughter, distraction, and escape to people who are suffering would be the best thing I could do with the time I have left. Today, once again, exposes the pursuit of money, fame, and possessions as the stupid empty non-purposes they are. Im really grateful we got to play for these kids. I hope I have more opportunities to use my goofy skill set, birthed from my own journey of struggle, pain and brokenness, to serve people who are hurting. (Garys gonna figure it out...even if its at the last second final buzzer)! :)
