A total of more than 55 executions were undertaken here, with the last execution being William Hampton. The Execution Pit was was discovered during renovation works in 2005, and the pit has now been restored to full working order. It clearly shows how many of the jails condemned were dispatched to eternity with the long drop. The list of reported paranormal phenomena here is endless, from voices being heard, to shadows being witnessed to visitors being touched and pushed.
