VIDEO: CalFire Operations Section Chief Bill Weiser gives Northern California News a few safety concerns the firefighters are faced with in Weed at the Boles Fire. Fire Information Line: (530) 408-6167 Location: City of Weed County: Siskiyou Acres: 375 % Containment: 65% Start Date & Time: Monday, September 15th 2014 1:38 P.M. Injuries: 1 Structures Threatened: 1,100 RESOURCES ASSIGNED: Engines: 101 Water Tenders: 8 Bulldozers: 5 Crews: 30 Helicopters: 3 Total Personnel: 1,112 Current Situation: Firefighters are improving containment lines and continuing mop up and overhaul work within the fire perimeter. Damage Assessment Teams continue to survey the impacted areas of the fire. Excess resources are being released and made available for other incidents as necessary. Utility crews continue assessing and repairing damaged equipment and infrastructure. The fire area received light rainfall overnight. If you feel you have information regarding the Boles Fire, please contact 1-800-468-4408. A reward may be offered up to $10,000 leading to the cause of the fire. Evacuation orders are still in effect for the following areas: The Community of Angel Valley and Hoy Road Because of damaged and destroyed structures, there are still areas outside of Angel Valley and Hoy Road that public access is not allowed. Hwy 97 is now open to through traffic. Evacuation Center is at the Mt. Shasta Armory located at: 518 Everett Memorial Hwy in Mt. Shasta.
