Born into the struggle I was born into the struggle where trouble was an ordinary word. When rubber bullets and stones exhanged directions, and colour gave priviledges. On the streets we toyi-toyied till our feet hurt, Our voices hoarsed and creeked-singing songs of Freedom: Mayibuye iAfrika, Like a setting sun-freedom was distant our persistance and resistance deepend. I was born into the struggle burning and looting was normal, informal settlesments were our suburns, while theirs our slave camps. In exile that sang: We shall overcome, here at home we sang: Izwe Lethu while they declared: onse vader land I was born to be witness of these struggles, Carry memories to share in poetry. This struggles will never end ALUTA CONTINUA - Liquid Love Goodevening, fam, frends, comrades and observers...
