Bosnia and Herzegovina Focus: animals and products of animal origin, foodstuffs, diverse inspectorates, Carnet A.T.A., and news regarding free trade with Albania. The import documentation for Bosnia and Herzegovina has been reviewed and adapted accordingly. The following changes have been made: Animals and Products of Animal Origin The chapter on Animals and Products of Animal Origin has been amended with regard to the requirements for the importation of the respective goods. The following documents required therefor have also been updated with new application forms: Approval to Import Animals and Animal Products for Breeding Purposes Approval to Import Medicaments and Pharmaceutical Goods for Veterinary Purposes Approval to Import Raw Materials and Products of Animal Origin Registration of Objects with the Veterinary Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina Registration of Importers with the Veterinary Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The documents entitled Veterinary Inspection for Live Animals and Veterinary Inspection for Animal Products have also been amended as they have become compatible with the Common Veterinary Entry Document (also referred to as CVED), a procedure required in the European Union (EU). For this procedure, which is required for customs clearance, the newly adopted document entitled Registration with the European Trade Control and Expert System (TRACES) may also be a prerequisite. Foodstuffs With regard to the requirements for importation, the chapter on Foodstuffs has been amended. Consignments of foodstuffs underlie an inspection by the Food Inspectorate of the Republic Directorate for Inspection Matters or the Federal Inspection Institute, respectively, at the designated border point of entry. Furthermore, objects from which the goods are to be imported are subject to a Registration of Objects with the Veterinary Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the corresponding register. Inspectorates All documents relating to phytosanitary inspection, quality inspection, sanitary inspection and technical inspection have been amended with regard to their respective inspectorates in both the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Serb Republic and the changed contact details thereof. Carnet A.T.A. The document Carnet A.T.A. has been amended with the border crossing points where the procedure of temporary admission of goods may be carried out. The procedure may be required in the framework of the Customs Convention on the A.T.A. Carnet for the Temporary Admission of Goods (A.T.A. Convention).
