Bottom-line sectional power interests do not like elections that pitch a presidential candidate from the North against another presidential candidate from the South, because as happened in 1999 and 2011 such elections put a lie to long held assumptions and beliefs, and throw up outcomes that override the hegemony foundation of Nigeria, hence the ongoing fight by the G-7 to deliver their side of the deal by ensuring that PDP fields a presidential candidate from the North, same as APC, thus preserving the status quo like in 1999, 2003 and 2007.
