Brain Injury Awareness is everyday for me ~ March is Brain Injury - TopicsExpress

Brain Injury Awareness is everyday for me ~ March is Brain Injury Awareness Month ~ A friend commented on the fact that I started dying my hair again. And how it seems strange to her that I would dye my hair, even letting it grow for awhile. Then chop it short and cut all the dye out. I tried to explain that it is not merely a matter of mood, as I have always preferred my hair either very short, or long. I never really liked it when it ...was growing out and usually relied on a bandana scarf to cover those many bad hair days. But even the length of my hair doesn’t really totally depend on my mood. The osteoarthritis in my neck has a lot to do with it as well. When my neck, shoulders and arms aren’t bothering me too much it isn’t a problem. When they are, it is difficult for me to keep my arms up long enough to wash my hair let alone dye it. At those times it is hard enough getting a brush thru my hair, which is very thick. When my hair, is long it can take over 45 minutes to blow dry it. Often the weight of my hair will aggravate the osteoarthritis in my neck. All of that is involved with the decision to dye or not dye my hair.
