Breaking into the music industry is one hell of a - TopicsExpress

Breaking into the music industry is one hell of a hard-nut-to-crack,especially if you are a Hip-hop artist or a rapper, its a very competitive game which keeps an artist on his toes all the time. The very same thing goes to all music genres, its a dog-eat-dog crazy world out there. I call on all our hommies to support the likes of Vincent Mancane Nyaqela Thapelo Molebatsi aka Tp Lehipi DaKoolkid. Tswinabloto Mchana DaWiserChanaMokaC Kagiso Geekay Montlhabaki aka Mrapper Geekay. Jae Easy Mologetso Tha_boi_from_Kp. Thabo Pebe aka KhabaThibla. Dikgosi(havent heard 4rm them in a looong time) Papi&Changase Changase&Carrocious. ADSR and La-Gouy. Deekay. And many other up&coming artist back at home. They can do a whole better with us by their side, all they need is a liitle bit of support and we MUST believe in them.I know for a fact that there are many recoding artists from around our villages dishing out the best music ever and yet we are purchasing junk from the likes of Solly Moholo and many others. Buying their cds,Downloding their music, purchasing their merchandise and spreading the word is the way to go.Who else to put them on a map rather than their own hommies. Modiri FM must also come to the party by launching a show which will focus on locally based recording artists where listeners will get to hear music from their former schoolmates, friends and neighbours.I mean,by estabilshing such programme they will nourishing raw talent from our own backyards and that will surely attract more local listeners and generate revenue.Im not saying our beloved station is not playing local talent but Im saying,If at the moment they dont have such a programme, its high time to reconsider it,after a thorough research of course. Tarven owners must set aside a slot(especially at peak hours) where local music is continuosly played before enforcing patrons to pop out R2 for junk loaded in Jukeboxes.Customers or patrons has the right to demand local talent on the playlist. Event organisers should also book these young, fresh and unrecognised talent at every show or concert hosted in our community halls. And again, they musnt just book them to exploit them by serving them juice and biscuits, they must fairly pay them according to their rates. It is also the responsibility of the public, tribal administrators and concert-goers or fans to demand that atleast at every event hosted at our communities a local act/s Must be on the line-up.Remember,as the public we have the right to boycott these events if our own hardworking artist are not recognised and empowered. At the end of the day,it falls squarely on You,yes you to go out of your way to make sure our local talent is being given a fair chance to perform at parties,21sts,graduations,wedding and other ceremonies. In the end everybody is a winner
