Britains pensioners and disabled people are two of the most neglected and disadvantaged groups in Britain today. We the undersigned believe the best way to honour our oldest citizens, our living WW2 veterans; is for the Government to pay them a £300 a week State pension; and let them have free Utilities; with no council tax to pay. And for the Disabled, we need to up-rate disability benefits , making no need for means testing, and abolish Atos before the next general election. This would help: Each year there is a surplus in the National Insurance fund of the order of £2 billion. The Great Britain National Insurance Fund had a surplus of over £34 billion as at 2005/06, £38 billion in 2006/7 and the Government Actuarys Department forecasts that this surplus will grow to over £114.7 billion by 2012.
