Bryce Robert Ayres May 29, 1972 – July 14, 2014 Bryce Ayres passed away on July 14, 2014 surrounded by his family and friends. Bryce was born in St. George, UT to Kendall and Anna Ayres. He is the 4th of 7 children: Penni (George), Bret (Tiffany), Tyler (Tyra), Travis (April), Troy (Jessica), and Brock (Luisa). Bryce is survived by his parents, siblings, and by his wife, Sarah Ayres and their two children, Sally and Sam. Bryce and Sarah were married in Salt Lake City in 2001. They moved to Wasatch County in 2009 and quickly found their place in a community of friends there. Bryce and Sarah were partners in life, parenting, and even in business. While Bryce had many successful endeavors on his own, he and Sarah successfully established and ran at least one business together as a team. Sarah commonly referred to Bryce as her ‘best friend,’ and during the last months of his life, Bryce was affectionately beholden to Sarah’s fierce commitment to his care and quality of life during his battle with cancer. Bryce was also a committed and involved father to his two children, Sam and Sally. He strove to give them every opportunity - from teaching them to snowboard to bringing them to Scouts and voice lessons, from working with them on homework and school goals, to movie watching and traveling as a family to their favorite destinations in Mexico or Hawaii. Bryce was an entrepreneur in spirit and in practice. He was creative; he loved adventure and he was an idealist in every way. Where other people saw road blocks and impossibility, Bryce saw opportunity. More importantly, Bryce was as passionate about helping others achieve their goals as he was about reaching his own. Those who counted themselves among his friends experienced his great generosity and he earned their loyalty because of it. His smile was infectious and he made it a point to make every day of his life count. Bryce’s friends and family came from near and far to be with him during his last days. Each friend and family member who was there in person or spirit are evidence of his generous heart and character. His illness and passing were even a catalyst for his family’s reunification and reconciliation, which will be felt for generations. There will be a memorial service held in his honor on Wednesday, July 23 at 7:00 pm at the Timp Meadows Ward in Heber City, Utah. In addition, a celebration of Bryce’s life will be held in September, date and location to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a fund set up for Bryce’s wife and children. Donations may be made by mail to Jason Randlett c/o Brighton Bank 93 West 3300 South SLC, UT 84115 or PayPal to donations@cancersucksfund.
