Buhari distinguishes Kano APC candidates with 2003 magic words: ‘APC Sak’ Gen Buhari has again showered candidates under the APC platform in Kano with the catchphrase ‘APC Sak’, the phrase he used in the 2003 election which helped to bring the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) into office in the state. LEADERSHIP recalls that in the 2003 presidential flag-off in Kano, Buhari wielded his political influence over the voters in the state and instructed them to vote for ANPP contestants from the president down to councillors. This denied the incumbent governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, a PDP member, the chance for re-election. Buhari, a four-time presidential candidate, LEADERSHIP gathered, made the statement yesterday during his national campaign tour held at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano. The commercial city of Kano was filled to capacity with Buhari’s political followers who came from every nook and cranny of the state and took over streets and pavements around Kofar Mata right from the break of day yesterday. The long awaited APC presidential candidate first visited Kano emir’s palace before he commissioned the first ever multi billion naira flyover of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (RMK Bridge) and Olusegun Obasanjo Bridge (OBJ Bridge) all around Kofar Nassarawa area. Along with him was Governor Kwankwaso and Kano government officials and APC leadership. Muhammad Buhari later arrived at Kofar Mata Stadium at about 3:27pm. Addressing the mammoth crowd after the introduction of dignitaries and APC leaders, Buhari told the millions of his supporters at home and at the venue that their support for him and need for change could only be meaningful when they collect their permanent voter cards. “I called on you (my supporters) to come out on Election Day en masse and vote for me. Cast your votes, protect your votes, follow your votes to collation centres and wait until the result is announced,” he stressed, adding that only such effort will guarantee his victory and stop election riggers from achieving their goal. Earlier, Buhari and the APC national chairman Chief John Odigie-Oyegun had presented party flags to Kano APC governorship candidate, Dr. Abdullahi Kumar Ganduje and other APC candidates for different political posts, including Governor Kwankwaso who is contesting the Senate seat for Kano Central.
