@BukolaSaraki, others may decamp to APC As the crisis threatening the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, continues unabated there are indications that the breakaway faction called the New PDP may stop being a faction in the party as all arrangements are said to have been perfected for their movement to All Progressives Congress, APC. According to feelers emanating from APC, some leaders of the party are aggrieved that the national leadership of APC refused to commence registration of party members because of the plan to hand over party structure to the New PDP members led by Senator Bukola Saraki. Sources disclosed that the national leadership of the party do not even care about the efforts that have been made to establish APC in Kwara State, but are eager to have the party’s structure ceded to the big shot from PDP who will control the machinery of the party in the state. This development according to Kwara247 is creating disaffection in the APC in the state, especially among the old members of APC who said they might quit APC if the likes of Bukola Saraki are brought into the party. However an old politician and stalwart of APC who spoke with newsmen said that the arrangements to hand over the party is normal and that it is what politics is all about. He said that when these people come in they would pump about N2 billion into the party and would help the party to further get itself deep rooted in the structure of APC in the state, which none of those who are complaining can afford such funding. He further said that politics and money are inseparable entities, adding that Nigeria is not ripe to play politics without money. On whether APC position of being a progressive party is being compromised, our source said that politics is all about interests. He added that ideology is nothing to write home about, in the parties in the country for now. He said APC is the only political party with the structure that can shield Dr. Bukola Saraki and his people from being politically harassed by the PDP political machinery and that it is Saraki’s primary interest. He further said that once Saraki and his people come into APC any harassment then would be tagged as being against members of the opposition and that the national executive council of APC will fight any person or party trying to victimize their newly acquired decamped members.
