Bunji Garlin responds to soca and calypso getting recognition on iTunes. A very special thanks to Mr Geoffery Dunn for his Major Role in getting Soca and Calypso as recognized categories on iTunes. Lets be joyful but let us also see that the work has just begun. As proven as I continuously say, THIS IS NOT A ONE MAN OR ONE WOMAN MISSION, this requires EVERYONE to play their role. If this doesnt send a loud message especially to trinidadians again since we seem to never want to learn or accept that all the people we pay the least attention to or tend to overlook will always be the ones to make all the significant moves in our music then I dont know what will. I said it years ago before Kevin little exploded on the scene and every journalist can tell you I still continuously say this now simply because we fail to realize that our musical scene is waaaayy bigger than what we chose to accept it to be. The moment we accept the fact that EVERYONE ( all song writers, artistes, producers and patrons/supporters) have an equally important part to play in pushing the boundaries of our music as opposed to picking who should and who isnt and such pettiness then we will see much more like this happening on a more frequent basis.
