Buttermilk Pass, Colorado.... near Snowmass ski resorts.... the autumn is lit with color in this area...the markings on this old fence caught my eye as I drove by...and by the time I set up there were all of these incredible clouds passing through. I love this area, it is off the beaten path and quiet. Shot this with my 10-24mm, ISO 100, 125 at F22- I used a polarizer although the sun was behind me so it didnt affect the image much- In post I put a single image in Niks tone mapping software and picked a pre-set called enhanced. Then I saved it and migrated into photoshop where I enhanced the reds a bit which not only enhanced the oranges and warmth, but tightened up the greens (opposite color). I used an accessory flash for a fill light to pop a little light into the foreground while in the field. I grabbed the dark tree with the want and lightened it a touch, then used my clone stamp to add a few clouds where there were patches missing...Oct 2014 Shares and comments welcome
