Whether on a rock-climbing route, a fishing trip, mountaineering, mountain biking, or simply enjoying the sunset around a campfire, he was at home in the backcountry. He spent his time teaching life’s lessons through these values to his children every day. Through an essay, poem, or song, (original or credited,) please share your own experiences, specifically expressing how living with the backcountry of Rocky Mountain National Park in your “backyard” has enriched your life; how its inspiration has shaped who you are today, the choices you make, and the values you hold; and finally how you plan on using your learned values to move yourself and your community forward.
