By denying the legitimacy of the Bashar al-Assad’s government, - TopicsExpress

By denying the legitimacy of the Bashar al-Assad’s government, and making a point of remembering and emphasizing all his atrocities and human-rights violations, our government has effectively empowered Sunni terrorists. We have denied Assad’s legitimacy and thus declared to ever terrorist and extremist that they have an opportunity to go overthrow that regime. This is a horrible exchange. Assad’s ruthless and torturous ways are aimed at protecting religious minorities from being persecuted. We have no business declaring that a ruler’s sins are unforgivable and then overlooking far worse crimes committed by the forces who oppose him. Our government never admits to the torture and murder that it sponsors and inspires. It still shamelessly boast in what we did in Libya where we backed Al-Qaeda forces to kill Gaddafi and overthrow his government. It is now a terrorist haven and playground. Yet Obama will shamelessly claim that the country is better off now that Gaddafi’s regime is gone. That is, literally, bloody nonsense. We have basically empowered and enabled Sunni Islamist terrorists all over the Middle East. The people we claim to be fighting—the same kind of people who we say destroyed the Twin Towers—are the people we are supporting in Syria. This is a disgusting policy and God is going to judge us for it. ,, ..
