By now many of you have probably heard that our dear friend Will ( William Austin) went to be with his Lord and Savior. Memorial services are tentatively scheduled at the Lincoln Community Hall for Friday afternoon August 29 at around 6 p.m. so working folks will have time to make it. Will came from Austin with my son Charlie one day about 9 years ago and asked if we had work ...... He never left............... Good times; bad times; happy times; sad times he was always there. He never left and carved a place for himself in the community and in our hearts; especially those of me and my family . He never had much money and he never really cared about that but when it came to friends he was a millionaire. If you needed help he was there. He did what he could to help his community and my family because that was his nature. That was just simply Will . Benefit auctions were a favorite . He served two tours of duty defending his country. He took to heart treat others as you would want to be treated. He never sat down to a meal that I saw where he did not give Thanks first. I know for a fact that even though he might be almost broke he would give money to a friend in need. He was in the process once again of gathering clothes for a fall clothes drive to the homeless. I just ran across those the other day. He did not forget those folks in need as he knew all too well the life of a homeless person. Did he have faults ???? Sure, we all do but the positives far out weighed the negatives. No, he was not much of a church goer except on Easter Sunday where every year he attended with me and participated in The Lords Supper . Instead he lived his live by example, helping and assisting others as we are supposed to. He will be missed by many and somehow, just somehow, I think there is a lesson to be learned here as taught by example by Gods humble servant, Will. Rest in peace my dear friend. You earned it.....
