By the way, if you scroll along the pictures that my brother has put up next to the one of my mother and her brother youll see one of a woman with three children next to a ladder. They are on a boat coming back from the USA in 1922, that marks the big rupture in the family. The girl on the steps in our Aunt Sylvia, the baby is Wallace who died and the third is our father, Harold Rosen. None of the children would see their father again. He stayed in the US organising for the Boot and Shoe Workers Union. The mother, Rose Rosen née Hyams (or before that Chiphka or something like that), lived in Nelson Street (off New Road, behind the London Hospital) with her children, her sisters, brothers, mother, father, and their parents too. Its just opposite the synagogue - which they didnt attend as they were Commies.
