CALL TO ACTION FROM DELEGATE FISHERS OFFICE: Dear Calvert County Business Owner, Recently, our office contacted you about House Bill 573—the elimination of the Business Personal Property Tax in Calvert County. In Maryland, small businesses are under siege with mandates from Obamacare, minimum wage hikes, and endless regulatory burdens. HB 573 provides needed relief as it encourages businesses in Calvert County to invest in new equipment and job creation. But I need your help. Currently, the Calvert County Commissioners do not support HB 573. ACTION ITEM: Please contact your Calvert County Commissioners and urge them to support HB 573. The following is their contact information: Susan Shaw [email protected] Evan K. Slaughenhoupt [email protected] Steven R. Weems [email protected] Gerald W. “Jerry” Clark [email protected] Pat Nutter [email protected] In order for this legislation to pass, it is critical to have the support of the Board of County Commissioners. This particular tax is not only a regulatory nightmare because of the forms you have to file, but it is also a financial burden and a disincentive for investment. It’s time to help small businesses in Calvert County by action, not just by words. Yours in service, Delegate Mark N Fisher District 27B, Calvert County [email protected] Office: (410) 841-3231
