CAN THE LAMB FINALLY SLEEP IN THE SAME BED WITH THE LION? ======================================================= Biblically, two stories are told that appear impossible to envisage without divine powers being bestowed upon you. One is the camel going through a needle’s eye and the other is of the lion lying together with the lamb, in paradise. Nothing comes close to differences in a lion and a lamb. The lion is at the top of one animal kingdom of, predators and the lamb is at the bottom of another kingdom of prey! Since the end of last week, the media has been awash with news of FUFA(lamb) lying in the grass with the lion(USL). The official website of the federation has not yet published any details but we are all keeping our fingers crossed. Since no one has come out to deny or claim responsibility of these statements, we shall await the official position with some anxiety. The only people that appear to claim triumph and exclusivity over this progressing story are the defunct and humiliated journalists. I was not comfortable writing in response to the media reports and specifically knowing who the authors are, but for the delayed official statement from FUFA I decided to proceed. These journalists are the ones that claimed, they had the power over football issues in this land, who owned the best lawyers that won injunctions over FUFA ltd, whose football knowledge exceeded anyone else’s and whose league has had a contract that tied them to supersport without any footballing teams or games going on. Am one of the people who feel deeply hurt by how the clubs struggle to pay players and backroom staff, receiving money from supersport should be a temporary patchup but the ultimate goal is to mobilize the fans to get back into the stadiums and the league and clubs will be self-sustaining. If the federation can pull that off, they will have made the greatest all time achievement for Ugandan football. I have not had the privilege of knowing what the inside story is but am fairly confident that my president mosses magogo has the slyness of a fox to smell the slightest traps that could be laid by the lion(USL). We have to trust and support him, because we supported him for the position that he currently occupies and that he is capable to run this office effectively. What use would he be if all the implementations he wanted to undertake would be through public approval and discussion? A word to the president is, keep your enemies closer and let them be in your sight not your back. The unanswered questions at this time are: How is USL incorporated into the constitution of FUFA and where does the banned USL boss kabenge fit in? FUFA has mosses magogo who is the equivalent of him in usl? Who is FUFA talking to in USL? What happens to the FUFA competitions and marketing departments and personnel? What happens after the contract of USL-Supersport expires? Who makes the Job descriptions of the new FA, the body that will be running the league? And lastly, how does this new agreement differ from the Jinja declaration? What will stop the new league bosses from running away with the league and confusing other clubs in to the maroon’s tragedy? The jury is out there Mr. President. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the FUFA president as he takes to the floor. Long live Magogo, long live FUFA
