CAN YOU HELP? We’re investigating two distraction burglaries in Newport. One happened on Friday 18th April at about 2.30pm at a house on Cot Farm Walk where a black briefcase containing money, jewellery and war medals were stolen. The offender is described as a white man, 30 – 40 years old, of a medium build, about 5’7” tall, balding with short dark hair combed over and brown eyes. He had a small scar on his left cheek below his eye. Another happened on Monday 28th April at about 3.30pm at a house on Beatty road, where a black wallet containing money was stolen. The offender is described as a white man, around 30 years of age, well-built of average height with dark hair. Two men, aged 44 and 47 from the Newport area were arrested on suspicion of both burglaries and have been bailed pending further enquiries.
