CANDLELIGHT VIGILAT THE PAKISTAN EMBASSY, ABU DHABI Around 300 Pakistanis from all walks of life participated in the candle light vigil held at the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi on 19 December 2014. The solemn ceremony commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran. A minute silence was observed in memory of the victims of the 16 December tragedy. Charge d’ affaires, Dr. Faisal Aziz Ahmed recalled that the objective of the gathering was to express solidarity with the victims and aggrieved families. At this moment of sorrow, he added, the Pakistani nation stood united in its resolve to defeat those who sought to undermine, distort and destroy our faith, way of life and social fabric. The ceremony concluded with women and children lighting candles as a mark of respect for the martyred children of Peshawar. The vigil marked the culmination of three days of mourning being observed by the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
