CAPTAIN DFA, KAPITANA DFA JOINS COSPLAY MANIA ‘14 27 October 2014 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), in partnership with Cosplay.PH, intensified its public diplomacy campaign through its participation in Cosplay Mania ’14, themed “Evolution,” held at the SMX Convention Center from October 5 to 6. Cosplay Mania is the country’s annual premier event that aims to feature the passion and creativity that drive cosplayers and cosplay enthusiasts through its various contests and activities. This year, the DFA booth with the theme “Nagtatanggol, Naglilingkod, Captain DFA…” distributed information materials and answered queries regarding passport applications, Foreign Service Officers Examinations (FSO Exam) and the role and functions of the DFA during the two-day event. The DFA booth was manned by officers and staff from the Office of Consular Affairs (OCA), Board of Foreign Service Examinations (BFSE), and the Office of the Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Concerns (OUCSCC). DFA’s mascots, Captain DFA and Kapitana DFA promoted the DFA booth among the young cosplayers through numerous photo opportunities and encouraged them to check out the information materials. DFA’s participation in Cosplay Mania ’14 was organized by OCA together with OUCSCC, BFSE, the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration (OUA), Public Information Services Unit (PISU), and the DFA Multi-Purpose Cooperative (DFAMPC).
