CARLOW CHRISTMAS RALLYSPRINT DEC 27th Press Release Carlow Car Club Lines Up A Christmas Cracker Carlow Car Clubs annual rallysprint takes place on Saturday the 27th of December in Mondello Park. Once again the event has attracted a top class entry. This year, the club and COC Francis Kelly, are trying out something different and have changed the format for the day to try help improve the timing and overall running of the event. The days kicks off with a practice run starting at 9.30 and the first timed run starting at 10.45. Cars will complete one lap of the circuit, starting in the pitlane, with 30 second intervals and each competitor hopefully getting 5 timed runs, with every run counting towards the overall results at the end of the day. A bumper full entry of 110 cars will compete on the day including top 4 wheel drive cars of , Pat O Connell , Thomas O Rafferty, Eddie power and Pauric Duffy in his new Fiesta R5 to name but a few. Added spice on the day is the top 2wd award, which is sponsored by GRT Hire Carlow, and this has helped attract an entry which boasts the like of recent Escort MK2 Challenge winner Wesley Patterson along with ERC and WRC2 Peugeot works driver Craig Breen. There is a strong list of drivers who will be pushing these lads hard on the day for the award which include, Terence O Shaughnessy, Keith Power, James Coleman, Colin O Toole, George and David Condell and many many more. As always there is a great turn out of Carlow Car Club members taking part on the day including Ken Tracey, Gary and Shane Hade, Thomas Abbey, Martin Flanagan, Peter O Brien, Fiona Cullen-Driver, William Cecil, seamus hobbs , noel obrien along with many more. Also on the day, a raffle will take place for a free entry to the 2015 Carlow Stages Rally, with all proceeds going towards the Irish Cancer Society, the draw will take place at lunch time.
