As an alma mater, I feel proud of you. Because you are the pioneer of major greenhouse gas emission research in Bangladesh using a state-of-the-art eddy covariance technique. Large area of terrestrial ecosystem in Asia is used for rice cultivation. Rice paddy fields are one of the greatest anthropogenic sources of methane, the third most important greenhouse gas (GHG) after water vapor and carbon dioxide. Other than Europe & America, there are only two Li 7700 CH4 gas analyzer instrument in Japan (Tsukuba) & South Korea (Seoul National University) for monitoring methane emission from rice paddy ecosystem. In this context, Bangladesh will remember you for the advancement of GHG emission research in Bangladesh as one of the Asian leader. May Allah bless you". Li 7700 can measure average CH4 emission of a 10ha area of land (Fetch is 1:100; our case is 3m:300m).
