THE_ARM_CHAIR_PANDIT_BLABBERS #1: Rampant corruption in the current government of India is speaking loudly of the incomplete democratic system in India. Nobody can sell a product, however good a product may be, without adequate funds to market it. In USA this has been circumvented by legalizing lobbying. Lobbying is inherently a form of corruption. But I believe that it is the best possible working alternative right now. In India lobbying in illegal. So how are the political parties supposed to gather funds for the campaigning?. Obviously, they will resort to corrupt means, even if the end intention is to come to power and do good for India. My viewpoint is that human beings are made to be greedy and always-hungry. What keeps society in balance is THE SYSTEM. If the system is good, people do and have to follow it. A very strong example is the law and order system in India and USA. Is is not so difficult to bribe a cop in India, but in USA, even if you think of bribing you can end up in jail (exceptions are the powerful people, but not the majority middle class working class people). A strong system has to be thought off, which will replace the lobbying, and hence the corruption. One of the possible alternatives is rewarding the political parties (i.e state and central government) based on their performance. How was the economic condition when they came to power and how is it now? How is it in relation to other countries in the world. The rewards should be generous. In my opinion, it can be so generous that it will make all good working politician millionaires. Politics will suddenly become the most highly paid, most challenging, most patriotic, and most lucrative job.
