Note( 1) 1 Sam. 12: 17, (v2) Deut. 23: 5, (v3) Ps. 32: 9, (v5) Matt. 16: 1-4, Rom. 12: 16, (v11) 2 Pet. 2: 22, Ex. 8: 15, (v12) Luke 18: 11, 12, Rev. 3: 17, (v19) Eph. 5: 4, (21) Prov. 15: 18, (v25) Ps. 28: 3, Jer. 9:m 8, (v27)_ Esth. 7: 10, Ps. 7: 15, Eccl. 10: 8, v4 – 5 states that you should sometimes not answer a fool to avoid being brought down to his level, if you must answer a fool you should answer in such a way that he is put to shame. V14 – relates that a slothful man love4s sleep so much that he seems hinged to his bed. V18 – 19 relates that a man who deceives his neighbor, and dangerous as a madman shooting arrows. V23- relates that silver dross may be taken as “glaze”. The point is this, just as glaze covers the rough pottery but cannot ultimately change its character, so the evil man cannot change his character by covering it with eloquent speech.
