CHARIVARI DETROIT 2014.... I THANK YOU!!!! (^_^) At this point, I am speechless. I am so full of emotions that I dont know where to begin. I know that heart of Charivari Detroit would not have a heartbeat without Chaunceia Dunbar. Thank you Chaunceia for your passion, commitment and caring about this entire event. You are the heart and because of the you, Charivari Detroit 2014s heart had a beat in more ways than one. From the bottom of my heart, thank you..... (^_^) An event on this level doesnt become an awesome event without the support and assistance of others. The following people helped, some without even being asked to do so.... A big thanks to my sisters Sharon Blessman and Tamaroff Banks for always supporting me since day one with this music. Even when Sharon didnt like the music in the begining back in the 80s (Love Sensation by Loletta Holloway changed all that lol... My crew Shirley Smith, Francine Burgess, Claudette Merriweather, Carolyn Burns, Char Goolsby Kim Calloway... I thank GOD for you all... My cousins Lamar and Derald Penn. Even though my other cousin - Lamar & Deralds younger brother LaTroy got married on Saturday (congrats LaTroy), my cousins made sure I was taken care of in regards to the city services for this event! Love yall cousins... I have been blessed to have as friends some of the most talented DJs to ever grace the airwaves with their voice, lay hands to wax or to the platter of a CDJ lol... Delano Smith, Terrence Parker, Moodymann, Gary Chandler, Earl Mixxin McKinney, Hotwaxx Hale,DJ DJ CENTs House, Bruce Bailey, Tom Linder,Kim James, Gerald McBride and the list just goes on.... I thank you because when I needed anything regarding this event, you guys didnt even blink - you just did it because I asked you to and for that I will be forever grateful... From the beginning to the end of this 2 day musical fantasy come true, I couldnt have asked for a better person to partner with as far as the MC duties than Mr. Kelly Holmes. Kelly, you are a dream come true to work with and we worked very well together! As far as Im concerned, we are the official MCs for Charivari Detroit period! (^_^) Charilyn, events are in your blood so I thank you for your knowledge, expertise and friendship! Our VIP tent was on point because of you! David Rudolph, youd better thank Mrs. Contessa Rudolph because without her, we would have not met when I was on 90.9FM WDTR and formed the friendship that we have to this day. We have worked on events together in the past with great success and Charivari Detroit 2014 was no different. I thank you for your professional input, your advice, and assisting us with all things PR. You went above and beyond the call of duty. Please know it did not go unnoticed... Dr. Antonio Yancey from Wayne State Univesity, you volunteered your services for this event and your help was so greatly appreciated on too many levels to name! I want to thank you for taking care of Ellen Craig (DJ Young 1s mom) the way you did and making her feel right at home... (^_^) I know you have now made a new friend for life! Shane Cox, Ava Adore, Warren Ross, Jason Garcia, Tina Nelson, Kelly Gorz, Michael Brent Scudder, Kristen Hill, Marius Bingue, Zay Crescendo, Lethal Lisa, Mo and Michelle Dunbar, Marleta, Warner Owens, Poncho and Todd Inniss, thank you all for your support! As I sit here and try to wrap my mind everything that went on regarding Charivari Detroit 2014 I must say it is mind blowing for me. By me being the MC for the Water Stage, I didnt get to hear everyone that played on the Land stage. I did get to see and hear a few snippets... I did hear Cash 4Gold, the Ghita Sisters, Christa Schrupp, Sarena Tyler and Steve Crawford, The Sonic Natives - getting it in Earl McKinney, Delano Smith had the area in front of his stage packed out - his set was Super FLY . On the Water stage, every single DJ that played back there brought the heat - from DJ Young 1, Powdr Blu, DJ Cent,(thanks Cent for taking my camera and making sure I would be in some of the photos lol), Biblical Proportions (who did a SWEET live performance which I did video tape and will upload shortly) Felton Howard, DJ Psycho had the crowd whipped into a frenzy and Gray Chandler did some s#&% on those CDJs that still has me speechless! Bruce Bailey, Stacey Hale and Ataxia played DJ sets that were music to my ears. I still feel like Im here in the TWILIGHT ZONE (thanks Stacey for taking me there lol...) Terrence Parker had his show on point with the live performance from Merachka singing his slamming new track Open Up Your Spirit and dropping his remix to Carmen Johnsons hot new single COLD - Whenever TP plays, he has the crowd in a HOUSEHEAD trance... Kenny MOODYMANN Dixon - you my dear friend are the BOMB! Kenny turned down an overseas booking for Sunday August 3rd to come home to play the Charivari Detroit 2014 event. He was out on tour, left Amsterdam Sunday morning, got home and came straight to the event. He told me when we talked about this event last year that it was very important to him that he participated. When he arrive Sunday evening to the event and started spinning, his Detroit fans let him know that he was missed! They went wild the entire time! When Kenny says hes DETROIT SRONG, he means it! Last but not least thank you Todd Johnson, Grant Gray, Steve Dunbar, Kevin Bledsoe and Hassan Nurullah. The only question I have left is ARE YOU READY? Buckle up... Here comes 2015.... (^_^)
