CHEERING NEWS !!!!!!! The World Heart Federation enlists Dr Rufus Adedoyin as one of the Emerging World Leaders in Non-Communicable Disease. Associate Professor Rufus A. Adedoyin has just been recognised as one of the emerging leaders in cardiovascular health by the WORLD HEART FEDERATION. He was selected from a worldwide list of professionals from various background related to cardiovascular health in the academia, civil service, private industry, cardiovascular medicine etc. He has thus been included in the emerging leaders programme- which is a Presidential initiative aimed to contribute to its “25 x 25” goal of reducing premature mortality from non-communicable chronic disease by 25% by 2025. His admission into this programme is based on his immense contributions to the cardiovascular health through research, publications, health promotion and rehabilitation. It is a great achievement and honour to the Physiotherapy profession in Nigeria that our own Rufus Adedoyin is one of the world’s recognized emerging leaders in cardiovascular health. By this appointment Dr Adedoyin will have access to international grants, training programmes, think-tank seminars, research, presentations in different part of the world including during the World cardiology congress, implementation and dissemination of activities related to cardiovascular prevention and treatment.
