CHIT CHHAYA, yesterday I had a chance to visit the photo exhibition at Lalit Kala Academy. The photographs clicked by the renowned photographers, Suman Sarkar, Himanshu Vyas, Chandan Singh Rathore, and Dalbeer Singh Neg were on display. The pixs were all Black and White. This was some thing un timely in the days of digitization, auto every thing, and the malty colors frames. Actually the B&W photography is most difficult job in which only the light and shades speaks, where as in colour, the colours cover every thing and the frame looks bright with various colours. A photographer first looks at the subject. If attracted, than he asks him self, the reason of attraction? Than he clicks. at the end he looks at the print, now a days the frame, Than again he asks him self, if he has succeeded in his job or not. And to look at, he has only light and shades to depict his view point, his feeling. The beauty of the exhibits at this exhibition are the B&W picxs, very well conceived, balanced framing, and composing. But what I feel, the contrast in some of the frames was a little loud, like the one in Picture of Sheep and Hill. In this frame, I think, if the top was little cropped, or the bottom was little added to keep the main subject some where in the middle, would have given a better balanced view.
