CHOOKS-TO-GO, Pilar Village Plaza, Las Pinas Roasted chicken is a family favorite anywhere. In my place, broiled meats are bought by families at all times of the day. In BF Almanza, we have the Isaw-Isaw stalls near the churchyard that are filed with people during late afternoons. The other subdivision of Pilar has more varieties that you can choose from. Aside from the isaw-isaw, they have choices of broiled chicken and pork --- from Baliwag, St. Pedro, and other stand-alone stalls. There is a newly opened food outlet called - Chooks-To-Go. I have seen this food stall all over Metro Manila, but have not really tried it, being partial to Andoks. But people were lining up, so I thought that there must be something to it. I looked at the price, and it was a good buy at P205 each. The chicken that they used are Fresh Bounty Chicken that are free range chickens and are grown organically. I bought two broiled pepper chicken for my 79 year old mother and see if it was a better product than the others. When I came home, the old woman was ecstatic --- she said, Haay, sarap! Parang lutong probinsiya! Di matigas yung manok at malasang tunay! Coming from a cantankerous old woman who is hard to please when it comes to food, that meant something. Nonetheless, when I tasted it ---Abah, talagang masarap nga! If this food outlet can maintain the quality and taste of their broiled chicken, customers will continue to pour in from years on end, including this writer. Heheh!
