CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (AP) — A new report says three police officers acted appropriately when they fatally shot a Christiansburg man in October. The report says no charges will be filed against the officers. Virginia State Police and the Bedford County Commonwealths Attorneys Office released the report to media outlets on Thursday. Sixty-nine-year-old Larry Miller was shot on Oct. 2 after he pointed a handgun at Montgomery County sheriffs Deputy Clark Jackson and Christiansburg police officers Travis Sawyer and Anthony Marshall. The report says the officers couldnt have known that the Ruger .357 revolver wasnt loaded. The officers were responding to a report of a domestic disturbance at Millers home. The report says Miller came out of the residence with the revolver and approached the officers. He ignored the officers orders to drop the weapon.
