CLETUS BASSEY ALLEGED DISGRACE: A REPLAY. Since I took oath of office as a journalist, I have vowed never to cast mud on any clergy despite His/Her denomination and such affiliation with the POWERS THAT BE. I strongly believe that spiritual heads are sent by God or god. With this believe, I intend not to ridicule anybody, but to face the crux of the matter. On Friday, last week, I had watch on Television screen how guests at Asan Ibibio booed Arch. Bishop Cletus Bassey when he was called upon to pray after Attah made his speech at the Ibibio digital Shrine. I noticed that, shortly after the booing, Senator Effiong Bob, said No more political Bishop, while Senator Eme Ekaette thanked the guests for a job well done. I was angry over such insult on a clergy and by extension, God and reacted same on this platform. Barely two days after, the state CAN Chairman put across the following counter allegations on the booing: (1) That as an Ibibio son, he was invited for the event by Ntisong Ibibio, Obong Essien Ekidem. (2) That he believed in the sterling leadership of Obong Attah, but left the venue after Kanu Agabi inaugural lecture (before Attahs Speech) (3) That the crowd booed 45 minutes after he left the shrine and was called upon to pray by MC (Mr. Michael Bush). (4) That why the people booed was that, it was PFN chairman, Dr. Ukafia that was supposed to pray, with regard to the programs agenda not him. (5) That there was a bishop that sat close to him, who wanted to ... . Without incurring the wrath of God, I wish to summit that, from his testimonies, it is clear that, either Michael Bush who called on him to pray was incompetence or confuse, cos I see no reason why a compere of such magnitude should called on someone to pray without being sure that he was on seat (though I have not heard from Bush yet). But could Mr. Bush with his Five Star antecedence make such a GREEN HORN mistake.? But why did Effiong Bob made reference to political Bishop? And who was he referring to as political bishop? Cletus Bassey or Ukafia? When Eme Ekaette thanked the crowd for rejecting a political bishop, who was she referring to? Bassey or Ukafia? Is there no attire difference between a BISHOP and ARCH BISHOP? And who was that bishop that sat close to you? MY SUBMISSION: Revered Arch Bishop, please next time you want to rebut an allegation of such magnitude, please take it to NUJ press centre, or you officially invite the leadership of NUJ to your domain, cos, I wish to verify so many POLITICAL ISSUES from you. I could recall that, in 2011, you stayed till the end of Akpabio annointed service @ ASAN, than why did you leave the Shrine before Attah even made his speech?
