CLIENT SERVICE SPECIALIST/PARAPLANNER Work as a full time employee of an independent private wealth advisor of Ameriprise Financial. Position requires analytical skills and provides room for growth. Instrumental role in a fast paced, friendly, financial planning office. Assist in daily business operations. Strong emphasis on creating and delivering a unique client experience that defines and differentiates the practice. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities. Responsibilities Responsibilities and time allocation can change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor. · Responsible for the preparation of client meetings, new business preparation, service and follow up to include: o In depth client file reviews in order to provide continuity from one meeting to another, identify items that need addressing, any uncompleted action items and initial review of accounts to identify potential changes that may be necessary o Meeting agendas o Prepare re projections of existing insurance products o Prepare hypothetical illustrations for insurance new business and track the underwriting process o Run investment reports using Morningstar and PMT o Required minimum distribution calculations o Prepare, Process, submit and track new business and service paperwork o Tracking of transactions, money movement and possible future business o Rollover coordination · Work with home office to ensure accurate account setup and resolve issues. · Prepare and process beneficiary and ownership changes, bank authorizations and other automated money movement transactions · Assist clients with questions regarding the client secure website · Work with clients as needed to obtain signatures and complete business cycle · Answer questions and provide readily available information to clients, if requested and as allowable, as it relates to servicing their accounts including complex issue resolution. · Work with Team Members to coordinate follow up from meetings with regards to financial planning, managed account deliverables and money movement. · Maintain files and records in accordance with the records retention policy. · As directed, assist advisor in completing trades and transactions. · Have the ability to learn quickly or already know how to use proprietary software and non-proprietary software such as Thompson One (brokerage platform). Requirements/Education: · Undergraduate college degree or higher, preferably in Financial Planning, Finance, Economics or Accounting and or two plus years of experience working for a broker/dealer and a customer service background. · Federal and state licenses and registrations for securities, including Series 7, Series 66, and State life, accident and health insurance licenses or be prepared to obtain at companies expense. · Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. · Excellent verbal communication skills. · Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and deepen client relationships. · Role requires good documentation and tracking skills. · Attention to detail with strong analytical skills critical.
