CLIFF OF THE VULTURE (El-Khab) Along the slope of Wadi Hellal, between the temple of Nekhbet and that of Amenhotep III, is the Cliff of the Vulture. On this rocky outcrop are carved many petroglyphs dating from the Predynastic Period to the Old Kingdom. The oldest inscription of this period mentions the name of Snefru. The petroglyphs of the Predynastic Period representing animals and boats. The petroglyphs dating back to the Old Kingdom document, for the most part, evidence of reverence towards gods and kings.
