CLOSE ENCOUNTERS WITH GOD….CREATING THE “MOOD” >> With a bit of effort, we can move into a close encounter with God. You know which kind of music produces tears of praise and worship. Play that kind of music! Nothing sets the mood like music… (This is why it’s so important what kind of music you listen to! The devil corrupts music and influences the entire world through music. So beware! Choose the type of music you listen to wisely. It is the most powerful tool in the realm of the spirit.) Creating the “mood” for prayer takes determination and effort. It is not automatic. There are so many distractions. Shut off the phone…the computer…The electronic gadgets. Send the kids out to play. Get alone with God in your special prayer closet. The Bible actually mentions a prayer closet because nothing is so intimate as meeting God in the same place each day. In that sacred place, you will remember what you experienced in the past, and it brings a surge of warmth and faith which propels you into renewed fellowship with your God. “We wrestle not against flesh and blood.” Sometimes we must press through the walls of oppression that oppose us. That means we must physically push back at the devil. Believe it or not, you can get physically aggressive with the devil…and it helps. Pound on the floor with your fist, etc. Raise your hands and wave them before the Lord. Do it until something breaks inside of you. Press through in any manner necessary. If you don’t have that kind of determination, often you will end up praying mediocre, “worthless” prayers that seem to go nowhere. Faithless, unmotivated prayers will go no higher than the ceiling. If you are going to bother to pray….do it right! Otherwise, it might well be a waste of time. Desperation is a great motivator. Go after what you need from God! “Go BOLDLY before the Throne of Grace,” the Bible says. Refuse to be content with the “nothingness” that seems to envelope us when we go to prayer. That is the Power of Darkness trying to overtake us…and it’s getting worse by the day. The devil knows the power of prayer, and he will do anything to stop us. He will cause the kids to fight. The phone to ring. He will send spirits of depression at us. Fight the devil fiercely. Put “motivators” before your eyes so that you can remember the ones that you need to be praying for. If we are not burdened for the lost, they cannot be won, and they will spend eternity in Hell, due to our apathy. Prayer is a huge responsibility….but it is also the most rewarding activity on the face of the Earth. Don’t neglect your prayer closet. It can be your most intimate place…where you are rejuvenated each day. Don’t let the devil cheat you out of a blessing. “The fervent prayer of a righteous man avails MUCH….!” https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=328336213934137&set=t.1640851168&type=3&theater
