COMMUNITY NOTICE: The City of Warm Springs is governed by a Mayor and five Council members, who are elected by a City‐wide popular vote. Elections for Mayor and City Council will be held on November 5,2013 for office of 2014-2018. Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-132(d)(3), the following qualifying fees were set by the Warm Springs Mayor and Council . Qualifying will be held at Warm Springs City Hall beginning Monday, August 26, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. and closing Friday, August 30, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. The qualifying fee for each council post is $18.00 and for mayor $24.00. City elections are nonpartisan; i.e. candidates do not run as members of a particular political party, and their individual party affiliations are not relevant to their positions in city government. Elected officials serve for terms of four (4) years and until their respective successors are elected and sworn in. The Mayor and City Council determine policies, enact legislation and provide political leadership in the community. Mayor and Council meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, Regularly scheduled work sessions are held on the fourth(or last) Monday of each month starting at 6:30 p.m. Qualifying packets are available at the City Hall in Warm Springs or may be downloaded from the warmspringsga.us website. The “Qualifying Officer” for the City will be the city clerk, Lisa Thompson, who will receive the below items.
